Today was the “Fun in the Sun” event for our organization. What is Fun in the Sun, you may ask? It basically means everyone that reports to our particular 2nd-line manager takes off from work at noon to drive to James Baird State Park for an afternoon of free food, beer, and games. Contrary to the picture of Optimus and Jason below, it was actually fun.

After work today I started looking into Cedega. I checked out their free CVS version, but it was the old 3.3.2 release. I also looked up KOTOR in their database and found that it should work reasonably well, so I bit the bullet and bought a Transgaming subscription (just long enough to download it, get it working, and then cancel). Managed to get KOTOR installed using it, but before I can actually play it I need to enable 3D support for my display.

Late last night I conducted my first test of my DVD burner. I selected American Psycho as the test subject, and proceeded to transcode it to MPEG-2, recombine the audio and video, and then used dvdauthor to create the filesystem and growisofs to burn the disc. The audio and video came out, although they were out of sync so I need to try transcoding it again with some different options.

Also went to see Dodgeball with John and Tim tonight after Ozan recommended it. It did have a few hilarious moments and there was a cool cameo by Lance Armstrong.
